I attempted to motorcycle across China in May and June of 2011. Garze was perhaps my favorite town and I stayed a total of 4 days. Predominantly Tibetan, it’s been evolving proliferately as modernization sets in. Along the main road in town, there are mom and pop shops now next to Nike and imported, brand-name cosmetics.

I’m hoping this place never changes but of course, it will.
